Back in the 90s, The X-Files was kind of a big deal. It was one of the first big ‘boxsets’ that had many people itching for the next episode – you couldn’t binge watch back then unless you taped them all to VHS – and tapped into a fascination at the time of aliens and the paranormal. It also introduced the world to the phenomenon that was Mulder and Scully.

The Best X-Files Monsters of the Week
Chinga
This doll was seriously, seriously creepy. There’s something inherently unsettling about these kind of dolls anyway, but this one was next level. The fact the doll didn’t actually hurt anyone but made people hurt themselves was just the icing on a very disturbing cake.
Flukeman
It might look a little daft now (a lot of the monsters do) but the Flukeman is one of the iconic X-Files creatures. It was some weird kind of human tapeworm that lived in the sewers and made trips to the toilet a little uncomfortable for a few days after watching.

Eugene Victor Tooms
Another one of the show’s most iconic characters, Tooms was able to squeeze his body into any space, making tracking and capturing him incredibly difficult. He also never got older and ate livers. An all-round top notch creep fest.
The Peacock Family
Messed up in practically every way. Not only did the Peacock family look terrifying but everything they did was just something out of your worst nightmares.
Beggar Man
Sometimes you wonder what went on inside the writers’ heads. Not only did the Beggar Man look scary but the sound of those wheels was enough to make the hair on the back of your neck stand on end. Oh and that fact that he would worm his way inside his victims and kill them from the inside. Yum.
