This Clash tshirt features the original concept artwork taken from Ray Lowry's sketch book for what is now recognised as one of the most iconic album designs of all time. Ray Lowry was chosen by Joe Strummer and Mick Jones to be the bands official artist during their US Tour in 1979.Ray considered the Elvis Presley Rock and Roll No1 album the most down and dirty rock and roll album cover ever. Ray saw the similarity in the Clash and their music as something as revolutionary so wanted to use the Elvis album cover design as inspiration.
